Overview

Kevin’s Room: Part 2 - Trust is a production of the Chicago Department of Public Health and Black Cat Productions. This second installment about six gay men of color sensitively explores issues of monogamy, HIV testing, the re-emerging threat of Syphilis, sexual boundaries and much more.

Just how far will one go for love? That is the ultimate question for the six main characters in Kevin’s Room: Part 2 – Trust. Kevin leads a support group for gay men of color whose lives are tested by the big-ticket trust items: honesty, fidelity, barebacking, living with HIV and much more. The second installment of the highly successful film will answer questions that left viewers of the
first Kevin’s Room episode hanging on to the edge of their seats.

In this second installment of Kevin’s Room, Kevin continues to lead his support group for “brothers in the life”. He is faced by an unexpected challenge when his relationship is once again tested. Kevin’s partner Jha’lil, has been recently layed off, is drinking too much and has just run into Michael, his very attractive and very successful ex-boyfriend.

New to the group is Tony, a young Puerto Rican college student who joins the group after eyeing Pharaoh going into a meeting. Tony, a fiery poet is unapologetically proud of his choices. His youthful candor stirs emotions among the group members and teaches Pharaoh a lesson in honesty.

Part two also introduces us to Aaron. HIV positive and involved in an interracial relationship, Aaron faces the common dilemma of just how far he’ll go for love. A single father of a 12-year old son, Aaron is a smart and deeply philosophical addition to our group.

Teddy and Angela re-ignite the dying embers of their strained relationship when a life changing revelation occurs. Still very much involved with his new Church, teddy is torn between choosing the life he desires and the one he must live.
